Estimate the AdjustaStairs™ You Need

Choosing the right AdjustaStairs™ model starts with your required vertical reach height — the height from the lower walking surface to the upper landing or access point.

Use the chart below to estimate which AdjustaStairs™ model may be the right fit for your project. Final model selection should also consider available run, access angle, stair width, landing conditions, anchoring points, and whether the stair will be used for temporary or longer-term jobsite access.

AdjustaStairs™ are designed as height-adjustable stair access systems and are commonly used for trenches, slabs, decks, mezzanines, and changing jobsite elevations.

How to Measure Vertical Reach Height

To estimate the correct AdjustaStairs™ model, measure the vertical distance from the lower walking surface to the upper access point.

Common examples include:

Application Measurement Point
Trench access Bottom of trench to top edge or landing area
Slab access Lower slab to upper slab elevation
Deck access Ground or lower platform to deck height
Mezzanine access Floor level to mezzanine landing
Temporary jobsite access Lower work area to upper work platform or structure

For best results, measure the actual vertical rise instead of estimating from drawings alone. Jobsite conditions can change quickly, especially on excavation, concrete, and multi-phase construction projects.

Standard AdjustaStairs™ vs High-Access AdjustaStairs™

For lower to mid-height applications, standard AdjustaStairs™ models are often used for temporary access to trenches, decks, slabs, and smaller elevation changes.

For taller access needs, high-access AdjustaStairs™ models are designed for greater vertical reach and may include additional truss support depending on the model and jobsite setup.

A simple way to think about it:

Access Type Common Use
Standard AdjustaStairs™ Trenches, decks, slabs, shorter access points
High-Access AdjustaStairs™ Taller elevation changes, larger jobsite access needs, extended reach applications
H-Brace support Added stability and higher capacity applications
